The U. G. Department of Botany has started in 2009 and is well known for its untiring efforts and sincere dedication for setting the best standards of teaching-learning process. We strongly believe that pedagogy is well strengthened not only by imparting best lectures but also by giving students an exposure of 'hands on practice' through practical and scientific projects. The department has well experienced and dedicated faculty members. The faculty have reputed publications in diverse fields of plant sciences. The course provides an all-inclusive knowledge in a diverse range of subjects with lower to higher plants, microbes, cell biology, plant systematics, Plant ecology and environment, cytology, genetics, molecular biology, biotechnology, phytochemistry and pharmacognosy. Besides, there are many other additional, skill enhancement module and discipline-specific courses to opt from. The department also run Short Term Certificate course of duration 03 months. The courses are covered with classroom lectures, practical, field studies, instructional excursions, and invited talks.
